Nata Lee is an artist of many realms. She lives to build portals to the divine. Most of the time her creative energy manifests as visual art. Sometimes it comes out as aerial acrobatics, poetry, or music. In 2011 she graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Minnesota and ran an interactive design firm with her husband until 2015 when they moved to Seattle and she became a full-time artist. In 2019 her creativity manifested in the form of a human with her son, Raven.
With the start of the pandemic, a creative void opened and a new path emerged for her in the form of tattooing. She began an apprenticeship with Justin Coppolino at the Nova Expansion in Seattle and fell in love with the art form.
2021 opened a new chapter for her family when her wife became pregnant and her husband accepted a job as a neurologist in Spokane. That’s when she found a new creative home here at Mom’s and what a perfect fit it is for a mom like herself!
She believes that tattooing can be a deeply spiritual experience and has felt called to the practice of ritual tattooing. Nata Lee has used ceremony tattooing to help her clients grieve a loved one, open a new chapter, and shed parts of themselves that no longer serve them. If this calls to you, reach out and she can tell you how to include this in your session.

A poem from her early days as an apprentice:
“I feel called to put to words
What awakens in me
With the dream
of putting ink to skin
Weaving permanence
In an impermanent world
Leaving lasting pieces
Of the infinite source
Of love and beauty
Made manifest
In the act of creation
From my mind and my heart
Through my hand to your body
With excruciating awareness
Of being Alive
Forever a reminder
That I existed
With you in that moment
And you are never alone”
